Q: Bruce, what was it like being at Old Trafford on matchday? 
The energy hits you as soon as you’re near the ground – thousands of people all streaming towards Old Trafford, everyone here for the same reason. Then you step through into your section and it just opens up in front of you – the stands towering on every side, 75,000 people packed in, already singing and chanting. Q: How did the atmosphere compare at Anfield for Liverpool v Arsenal? 

The Liverpool vs Arsenal match felt way more intense. Two huge football giants in the EPL going up against each other. Anfield is a little smaller than Old Trafford which also makes it feel more compact. The Liverpool fans, lead by the ones in The Kop stand, are relentless. Consistently vocal right through. From You’ll Never Walk Alone before kick-off gives you goosebumps even if you’re not a Liverpool fan, right past the final whistle. 

Q: What moments stood out most from each match – a goal, a chant, or maybe the energy in the stands 

• Liverpool’s most famous song, You’ll Never Walk Alone before the match kicks off will stay with me forever.   
• The chanting of Bruno from the Manchester United fans after he scored the winning goal through a penalty. 
• Liverpool fans chanting, “Champions, Champions, Champions” whenever they felt their team needed a boost. 
• The stunning late free kick scored by Dominik Szoboszlai which earned Liverpool a 1-0 win over Arsenal. 

Q: How did you find travelling between cities for the two games? 

Transport right through the UK is seamless and even so was the train from Manchester to Liverpool. Easy to use mobile tickets and a short trip towards the coast. 

Q: Did you get any time to explore Manchester or Liverpool between matches? 

We had more time in Manchester to explore the sights and sounds. The food culture in Manchester was out of this world. Here’s a few I would highly recommend:  

• Fat Pat’s is a must. A take-out which serves incredible sub sandwiches, like a Philly Cheesesteak which was incredible, from out of a window down an alley. 
• Rudy’s Pizza serving true Neapolitan pizza in Manchester. 
• A stroll through the John Rylands Library in Manchester almost feels like you in Hogwarts. 

Q: For fans watching from home, what’s something TV just can’t capture about being there live? 

The sound… it vibrates through your chest. Each chant, each song along with the sheer roar from the crowd when a goal is scored.  

You’ll Never Walk Alone in person will send chills down your back and get the hair on you neck to stand up.  

You don’t feel the tension and momentum shifts in front of a TV. The crowd building and willing their team to score a goal is incredible. 

It is not just about the action of the pitch, being there you get to see the passion and emotions from the fans. You get to experience the occasion.  

Q: Finally, what would you say to someone thinking about booking their first Premier League trip with Edusport?
