South African driver Giniel De Villiers and German navigator Dirk Von Zitzewitz arrive to a heroes welcome in Lima at the end of the 2012 Dakar Rally.

The atmosphere in the city of Lima today was nothing short of electric. Following the drivers to the podium ceremony in downtown Lima, we literally encountered thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, of cheering locals lining the streets.

This year’s Dakar Rally is finally done and dusted and after 8391km through Argentina, Chile and Peru, the 443-vehicle starting grid has been whittled down to just 249.

First RWC supporters return to South Africa

I am sure that all the clients who travelled to New Zealand for the SA vs. Wales and SA vs. Fiji match will agree that the festivities were incredible in New Zealand. Despite the SAFA’s being the All Blacks main rivalries in the tournament they gave us a warm welcome and engaged with us on a very friendly basis. I am sure some strong friendships were formed and I know that long lasting memories were made from these travels.

England and Australia RWC 2011 teams to visit Christchurch

Tournament organiser Rugby New Zealand 2011 today welcomed the decision of the England and Australian Rugby World Cup 2011 teams to include Christchurch in their Tournament itineraries.

“Both teams were due to play matches in Christchurch, but the devastating earthquake of February 22 of course changed those plans so we are grateful that the team are able to do their bit to raise the spirits of the city,” said RNZ 2011 CEO Martin Snedden.

England team manager Martin Johnson and several team members will spend time in the city on September 7 ahead of their opening match against Argentina in Dunedin on September 10.
